The Team
We have a hands-on approach to whatever we do and whenever possible are personally involved in every project, intervention, or workshop we take on.
However, there are times when we need a few extra pairs of hands, particularly for team development workshops and associated teambuilding activities. For those times, we’ve hand-picked a small team who share our passion for working with people. Each member on our team brings a unique set of skills to further differentiate our work and help us achieve the intended result.
Most of our team members are not full-time Cape Leadership Centre employees but free-lance facilitators who are also entrepreneurs in their own right. We are proud of our diverse team, their skill set and personal ethos.
Meet some of our people:
Clyde van Zyl
With a background in HR Training & Consulting, combined with a BA in Clinical Psychology, Clyde is an extremely adaptable and versatile facilitator. Clyde's areas of passion are around leadership development, team dynamics and personal mastery as well as the design of in-house leaderhsip programmes for corporates.
Debi Hawkins
A drama teacher, actress, and performer, Debi exudes passion and injects a "joie de vivre" wherever she goes. Working with CLC both in an administrative role as well as facilitating events, Debi brings both breadth of experience and a confident approach to every project she's involved with.
Kumeshnee West
A past delegate on one of our "High Performance" events, Kumeshnee is now a colleague who shares our passion for leadership development. An MBA graduate, Kumeshnee is a free-lance facilitator, part-time lecturer and a regular speaker at professional business women events and other programmes aimed at assisting women achieve their best.
Sue Wigham
Having worked as an English teacher for over 25 years, Sue has held various roles as Head of the English Department, Head of the Drama Department, and – most recently – administrator at the Cape Leadership Centre. An experienced Toastmaster, Sue teaches drama to students across Cape Town as well as running public speaking workshops for a variety of audiences.
Daniel Bowd
Unassuming, yet effective, that’s Daniel. In our world, last-minute challenges can cause a few moments of panic as everything needs to run 100% smoothly by the time the client arrives. Daniel’s ability to get things done and ensure calm prevails makes him an invaluable asset to the team
Catherine Philips
Our youngest team member, Catherine brings that special quality of youthful innocence combined with high-energy, a passion for rock climbing, nature conservation and working with people. When working with the Cape Leadership Centre, you’re most likely to meet Catherine at the top of the cargo net, ensuring the safety of your team.
Zelim Nel
If you’re a rugby fanatic, you may recognise this name from the sports section of the Cape Argus. Zelim is both a passionate rugby player as well as a talented coach. As a free-lance facilitator with the Cape Leadership Centre, Zelim effectively incorporates sports analogies in his work with corporate teams.
